Who am I?

My name’s Dan. I’m an avid fitness enthusiast with a heavy active interest in Health, Nutrition, Training and Well-being. When I’m not leaving a mess in the kitchen you’ll often find me in the gym, being lucky enough to train at one of the best CrossFit gyms in Europe, if not further afield. I’ve recently started rock climbing again and always try to find the next fun way to expend some energy such as hiking! Nutrition is a huge interest of mine, allowing me to get the most out of my training and everyday activities and so I’m always looking for new articles to expand my knowledge. My training ranges basically from cardio and bodyweight circuits to olympic weightlifting.

When I’m not training I read a fair few books, probably watch a bit too much TV, play video games and try and research new content for this blog. Then, when my mind feels a bit tired or overwhelmed, I do varying forms of meditation and yoga of which I’ll discuss further in the journey of this blog. Please see below some common questions asked of me.

Common Questions

What is your background then?

I first got well into exercise and training when I was 18, about 8 years ago and, since, both have become a daily part of my life. I studied Forensic Chemistry at University in Manchester and got a job in that field, before finding out that career wasn’t all I expected it to be.

Now I work as a Sales Rep for Cadbury’s and get my kicks from training nearly every day along side like minded individuals. I’m also fortunate enough to be surrounded every day at my gym by world leaders in every aspect of health, fitness and nutrition and training alongside professional athletes day in, day out. I played rugby for 15 years of my early life and now aim to compete in weightlifting and crossfit events consistently by the end of the year.

How old are you?

25 years young, very nearly 26

Briefly, what is your diet like?

I incorporate restraint and consistency in eating solid macro and nutrient rich foods (lots of veg, fat, carbs and protein) whilst allowing myself to eat what I want when I want it. The important thing is trial and error and if it makes me feel good, I stick with it! From experience I can tell from my body when I’ve had a binge-full weekend of food (or alcohol) and so check in with my looks and emotions to assess whether I need to change up.

Where do you live?

I live in Manchester, UK, often raining, but when it’s sunny you can’t beat it…

I can’t disclose every aspect of my life here as It would be an essay, but what I do want to offer is a snapshot of what I love doing and expand on this brief introduction over the life of this blog.
